Dollywood, TN
December 19 - December 22, 2024
Smoky Mountain hospitality awaits at IFM’s upcoming 3-night homestay opportunity! Tripadvisor named DOLLYWOOD the “number one theme park in the US.” The park’s “Smoky Mountain Christmas” is a 13-time award winner of Golden Ticket's Best Christmas Event, and features seven holiday performances (indoor and outdoor), 5 million Christmas lights, 50 rides,* dozens of eateries, craft displays, and a nightly parade!
KEY DETAILS:
-
Thursday, Dec 19, 12:45pm: Depart from 610 Pickens St, Columbia SC
-
Friday and Saturday at Dollywood.*
-
Sunday, Dec 22, 7-8pm: Return to Columbia.

Transportation cost: $60 per person (children half price; expect a 6-hour trip)

Seats are limited; you are not registered until the transportation fee has been paid.
You must buy Amusement Park tickets, and pay for your meals while in the Park. Cost is just $122+tax (age 10-61) for 2 days! (For comparison: on Dec 20-21, DisneyWorld costs $331 for two days!) Expect to pay $40+ for food. We’ll send details about options to those who register. For more information about Dollywood, visit: https://www.dollywood.com/Plan-Your-Visit/Christmas
You will have at least two meals and spend three nights with a host family. A trip highlight is a special class for our group when you go to church with your host on Sunday (required). The church will also provide lunch before we drive home.
Children are welcome, but parents must dress them warmly: the outdoor temperature could be close to “freezing,” especially after sundown. Age 4-9 tickets are $112 for two days; under 4 is free. Parents are responsible to bring an appropriate child-safety seat for the van.
*On Saturday, some hosts may invite students to go with them to a different attraction, to go hiking, etc. (This is up to each host, not IFM; ask for details.) Some Dollywood rides may close due to cold temperatures. Although Dollywood is not a “religious” place, some of the music/decorations will reflect that Christmas is a Christian festival.)
(Option: pay $40 for “pass” to try five festival foods at Dollywood—this is a great deal. Empty water bottles can be taken into the park, but no “outside” food is allowed. However, we can arrange to visit the van midday to eat our own snacks.)
